in the wild Squamosas are found on the reef, i don't know how they ever got lumped into the "sandbed" clam catagory.even Derasa and Gigas are most commonly found in close association with the reef on Hard Calcium Carbonate substrate, not sand. in the wild loose sand is very dynamic, and moves. a clam on the sand wouldn't last very long if its buried in the sand after every storm. |
