tweeking a diy skimmer

Hi all,

I have a beckett DIY skimmer and can seem to get a dry foam out of it, when I start it up it is dry for a few minutes and then turns wet. I have tweeked the air intake and the height of the foam and haven't found a perfect setting. are there any tricks that I am missing. my skimmer is about 28" tall total and fits under the stand. Do i need to make it taller or should i live with this performance. I used to have a mak4 devoted soley to powering it. After my return pump died last night the mak is half return pump half skimmer pump. I thought it was actually working better but it is in wet foam mode again.

If any one has any thoughts they would be greatly appreciated, I am thinking about lowering the input tube and putting the injector right on the bottom box. that would decrease contact time but might help with the foam production.

Thanks

Tom
