OK...stick with me! I have a 26 gal tank...with 3 fish and GSP...has been setup for 3 yrs. Last friday i did my weekly water change 4 gals. I ws gone for the weekend and my mom fed the tank. Monday i came home to a tank filled with brown something all over everything. And i didn't and still dont understand why...I trust my mom feeding my tank!

Anyway monday night i cleaned the entire tank and i did another water change about 6 gallons. I tested the tank on friday (yesterday) and this...

Tank temp - 80
salinity - 1.024
pH - 8.3
am - 0-0.50
trites/trates - 0

...my tank still has this brown stuff all alover everything and i was told that i might have high phosphates so tonight when i went to the LFS i had them test that...i dont know the number but he told me that its no were near high enough to cause an outbreak. So i'm still out in the dask as to why i have this brown stuff and what it is?????????????

Then the next confusing thing came...I also had the LFS test my water for calcium and alkalinity b/c i dont have those test kits yet. They both came back low..calcium was around 300 and alkalinty was around 1.4. The reason why i dont understand this is b/c i do a weekly water change of 4 gallons and since last firday i changed 10 gallons. I dont understand why this is so LOW?????????????????????????

I know this is big and i need everyones help! Ask me anything and if i have the anwser to chip away at this i will give it!
