| While I don't recall most of the history of this case (i.e. how long Malvo was under Muhammad's "control"), I rest a lot of blame on Muhammad for Malvo's actions. Does that excuse his killing of innocent victims, of course not. Should it be taken into consideration, I think so.
It is a fact that perfectly good people can be brain washed (i.e. Nazi Germany) and I think this is the case with Malvo. So, I feel that his (and Muhhamad's) sentencing should consider this.
The "an eye for an eye" ideology always perturbs me a bit. It is an ideology based on hatred masked by justice. Do I feel sorry for Muhammad, of course not. Do I feel sorry for Malvo, well, in one sense no (because I think of the victim's and their families) but at the same time, I also see how a weak-minded 16 year old (now 18) could easily be molded into something else.
It is something I struggle with quite a bit but I just feel that killing a man, any man, is and always will be murder, no matter who that man is or what he has done.
Just a couple of pennies and of course just my own opinion...
Take er easy
