I think you should go for it and document your experience, being mindful of the lives of the tank inhabitants, of course. I remember reading something that Bob Fenner wrote a while back (perhaps in his book) about a tank in Asia (perhaps Mr. Eng's tank) that used only natural sunlight and water changes. I believe it could be done if you can grasp the bio-chemical aspect of nature, and be willing to committed to the process. Good luck.
