Well I didn't end up buying the rock this time around, my funds went elsewhere....but somewhere down the line I'll add a bit o' rock.
Noticed two cool things this morning:
1.) Caught a cerith snail laying a clutch of eggs. I had found the egg strands about two other times, and have seen tiny snails crawling about my tank, but couldn't tell what variety of snails they were...but now I know who the culprit is!
The eggs look something like this:
and I find a few new strands about every two weeks.
2.) I'm not sure what is up with my LTA, but it's gotten really big since I purchased it, and is looking really healthy, but it looks as if another mouth is forming, because now the LTA is in a figure 8 sort of shape I couldn't really get a good picture of it, so I'll try taking one and posting it later. I just wonder if it's going to split?
And with the loss of two of my anthias a week ago, I was thinking about filling the gap with a small fish. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I was thinking a small reef-safe wrasse, but then again, I don't have a cover on my tank, so I don't need a carpet surfer. what do you all think?
