im not a stick and twig man myself,,,as you have seen, my branches are gorgonians,,,lol

if the tank is stable, has gone though the algea bloom stage(but you got established sand) then you can try it. one thing about reefing is there isnt a time frame, its ready when its ready.

i would start with the montipora digitata, hardy and forgiving.
