I agree with the others, that if you can have your new tank drilled, I think you'd be much happier than having the overflow box.
You mentioned sump......how large do you plan on going?
You could also advertise that you are looking for a skimmer in our for sale/trade section but, I would suggest that you check out our sponsors too.
Some of them offer discounts for RS members.
Are you going to use any of the water that is in your current tank for the change over?
I would also make up all the water that you will need a day or two before in a large tub with a power head for circulation and a heater to get it up to the temp you need.
