Montipora (cabbage coral, lettuce coral, finger coral, digitata, velvet finger coral, velvet rock). Red Sea and Indo-pacific lagoons, reef flats and protected upper reef slopes. usually in very shallow water with strong illunimation. aquarium specimens are from Fiji, Solomon is., and Indonesia. Very lightweight fragile skeleton, small polyps in depressions over colony surface. low medium to high medium lighting, water flow medium, . placement on rock structure or solid surface, not on sand . depending on lighting placement can be low/ mid point / or high. start low to mid and adjust from there. as long as detritus does not settle on the animal then you will have a fair chance of success. This coral is not very aggressive. ( food - sun, phytoplankton, zooplankton, marine snow, fish feces) Hope something here helps. recommend a well established system for this coral.
