Nanos are generally one SMALL fish set ups. The general rule of thumb is one inch of mature fish per five gallons. That would be one 2 - 3 adult fish in a 12 gallon. The clown alone will grow to 4 - 5" as an adult. Too small an invironment can stunt the growth of the fish. The better the filtration, the more fish a system can tolerate.
Three fish in a nano is really pushing the envelope.
