We have a small white "things" growing on the sides of our tank. They are all by themselves (but there are a ton of them) and almost look like a feather duster but on the sides of the tank and they are white and very small. They are in the shape of an asterisk * pretty much. Any ideas?

Hydroid jelly fish, free swimming phase. They will come and go but don't usually cause any major problems. If they are more like the @ symbol, then they are feather dusters (tube worms)

This is the husband of saltwater, to add to the question, to be as precise I guess as possible, there must be 100's if not 1000's of them. They almost looks like very tiny snowflakes. I guess we hadn't noticed much in our aquarium until we added a additional T5 light. Now the live rock is noticeably turning purple, and we do see a feather duster, as well as some white/light brownish sponges on our live rocks. This led us to believe it possible was something from the live rock. Otherwise the only other new thing we have introduced into our tank since ich killed everything in it 3-4 weeks ago is 2 turbo snails.
