Mick, Terry, When raising my salinity I use salt for top off, so it raises more gradually. I just keep an eye on it and change back to RO once it hits the mark.

Good point Steve.

I guess the optimum thing to do would be to measure the amount of skimmate dumped, and replace that amount with fresh saltwater, but that would be a real pain LOL!

Hi all
well tank is all running fine now i will post some pics soon.
took out my bio filter in the (COD) it did cloud the water for a while but seems to be fine again now.
there seems to be something like cobwebbs cotten like stuff coming of the rocks .
is this normal ?

Hi again still strugling with ph levels.
been out and purchased a ph 8.2 buffer.
it says add one scoop per 37ltr wich i make out about- 3 1/2 scoops?
do i add this direct into the tank ?
or do i mix it in a cup of water from the tank.
thanks once again to all you lot out there

Definitely dissolve it in some RO/DI or distilled water before adding, and add it slowly to the back of the tank to dilute it further before it gets to the main tank. Don't overdo it - I might try one scoop first and see what effect it has. You want to avoid suddenly jumping the pH up more than 0.1-0.2 at any one time.

You're welcome! With additives it's always better to add too little than too much. You can always add more.

Just got a TMC V2 300 WATER STERILISER what would be the best way to intigrate it into my 130 D ?
i do have the plasic piping that clips in the back !
would it be best to put a pump next to the skimmer on the heater chamber side or would a external pump be best ? also what flow volume

HI,all
just about to change the light bulbs on my 130d.
at the moment they are half blue half white.
i have noticed that you can also get full white & full blue.
what is the most common used in the 130 d
