Hi I bought a squamosa today. What do you think of it?

Please give advice.

I have 0.04 ppm phosphate, 25 ppm nitrate,. mg ca kh within recommended. 400 watt leds.

It's closed up when I switched off the lights
Does it change color?
How fast does it grow? About 3-4 inches now I guess.

Nice t. squamosa mate! :)
T. squamosa are a clam that come from lower light environments so my recommendations to you for this little beauty would be to lower it down a little to just above the green frogspawn(?) in the centre there, if it isn't happy you can always move it up a little but I think it being that high and directly under the lights might be a little bright for it. As long as your parameters are stable and consistent you'll find your clam will thrive because they're quite hardy critters once they settle and enjoy the tank but you need to make sure you keep things stable for them :) I'd keep an eye on your Ca and Alk as once they settle and start growing they can surprise you with how much they consume!! :) Clams are my absolute favourite so if you have any questions at all, don't be shy and ask away!!! :)
