small spikey, finger like growths on coral

Hi - I have an established 55gal. tank that includes one large seabae anenome, a bubble tip (not doing so well) large sailfin, percula clown, yellow tail damsel, and a spotted hawk fish.

I have a remora protien skimmer, hang on emperor 400, and Magnum 350 canister filter with a few power heads for water movement.

Nitrates currently kept at bay<10ppm but yet keep on getting these little small crusty outcrops of tube like things 1/4 to 1/2" long popping up everywhere!!
I seem to be growing lots of green hair algea also.
Anyone know what these might be and is it an indication of anything??
Also why with low nitrate would I still be dealing with so much green hair algea????

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Ozonie

I see this is your first post so let me start by saying welcome to RS I'm not a pro but it sounds like a little bit of over feeding, what and how you feed can cause the tube worms your seeing and the algea
