HELP! Skimmer

I have purchased a eshopps hob skimmer from my fish store and ever since I bought it, it won't stop over flowing. I'm fully open and even removed the sponge. I honestly have the drain line going right back in the aquarium and the lid taped on to keep it on. I've had this thing running now at least 3 months with no improvement. Any suggestions?

What do you mean wide open?
If I run mine ( water flow) more than half, it would certainly overflow.

If you turn your water flow to zero does it stop?
If not is your Venturi plugged? I have to clean mine every month to prevent overskim.

Have you used anything like expoxy?

Clean it in a vinegar solution and try it again. Also, as stated try regulating the Venturi valve
