So I Got this From my Pet Shop Owner. He said that the only way to cure an ick is to put the SW Fish in a Freshwater until it stresses them and after that put them back to the tank to cure

this is his suggestions for me cause he told me that buying medicines for icks are expensive
im just a newbie here
I just wanna know if this method is reliable to all SW fishes or in just some species
or it is dangerous to fishes..

Thank you.

The FW dip method, as outlined by your LFS can be used to hopefully remove some of the parasites. However it is not considered an effective treatment for SW ich. I do not recommend using this method.

Here are several threads on treating the disease.

To summarize all this -
You must treat all the fish.
Treatment must be done in a quarantine tank. No exceptions. No excuses.
Copper or hyposalinity are the only reasonably effective treatments, but don't use both together.
There are no "reef safe" medications that are also effective against the disease, despite what the LFS, or others may tell you, or what is printed on the medication package.

What medicines are you talking about? The two main treatments are hyposalinity, which is reducing the SG of the water slowly to about 1.011 and keeping it there until the fish is cured. Copper is usually administered with a Chelated Copper product, such as CopperSafe. Here is a link to the manufacturers website - http://fritzaquatics.com/product/coppersafe/#monster360-tab-1 Note, this is an example only, any similar product many be used.

Whichever you way you go, be sure to treat in a quarantine tank.
