So one of my AI primes died and there is no solution from customer service... So I went out and did a thing today. Lots of work still to do in order to find the appropriate mounting solution with my canopy, but step one is done....

Thanks you two... I am excited but shelling out the coin sucked! And I still need another one [emoji22]

How long did the AI last you?
Had them on for about 1.5 years I think. Tried scrolling and looking but couldn't find it. They are a good light but the don't have gaskets protecting from condensation like other lights do. Apparently they just don't like being shoved under a canopy for extended periods of time. If properly mounted in the open they are a great bang for the buck.

Well I got annoyed at my lack of progress yesterday and finished my wire job.... For now...

Still need to add my new lights to the wiring job and tuck a few more cables.

It turned out great for my first attempt, but I still think it would be better if I build an external box for my supplies and then add a board like this so it's not so tight in there.

Thanks. I have one on my frag tank. But, I haven't used it continuously over the last two years that I have had it. And it isn't in a hood. They are supposed to be good lights, that is why I was surprised about yours and was wondering how long you have had it.

Makes sense and I would recommend them for a lot of different reasons, just not in my type of application

Well today was fun... I finally finished ripping apart my canopy and rigging up the new mounts for the lights. Tomorrow I go buy my second light and hang it so I can get this back on the tank.

1) removed the wood supports for the canopy
2) cut out area for the fans to circulate
3) raised the lid 1.5"
4) painted all the exposed wood
5) drilled holes for both lights
6) mounted the new radion

Need to:
1) buy the second radion
2) mount it
3) attach new mesh for dog hair control
4) attach the door
5)set schedule

I finally finished my new setup and just in time to start working 14 hour days for a while. I love the way it looks and only see one issue for the future, this thing is tall now!

The lights look amazing and I need to figure out why the right side is displaying different colors than the left, but everyone seems happy to have light again.

I couldn't believe how big this mushroom got either!

Just realized i posted my update on my old build thread... forgot i had two on here.

So my sailfin was finally diagnosed with HLLE and i begin treating tonight to see if i can save her. I lost the green colony of zoas and do not know why. The mushrooms are all doing great and my other zoas are happy campers so far. Just added some new ones last night, so hopefully they open up soon for pictures.

I had an unplanned change in my work life so the tank suffered while i pounded the pavement. now that things are back on track i am building my new water station and changing some plumbing and wiring in the sump area. More to follow and pictures coming soon.

Miss you guys!
