Removing hood & rim on Red Sea 130D???

I'm thinking about removing the hood & rim on my Red Sea 130D.

Has anyone had a tank crack or break in the tank due to this? I saw an old thread about this and I'm curious if the tanks are still holding up?

Any links, photos, etc. appreciated. Thank you!

First off, if you have the tank running, don't attempt it. You don't want to crack the tank and dump all the water and livestock all over. If the tank is empty, they you can try it, but even so I wouldn't recommend it.
