Refugium - an alternate source for rotifers?

Ever since I started a refugium about a month back, I've noticed that I now have tons of rotifers all over my main tank and in the refugium on top of the usual copepod population. There's cheato in my refugium and I run my lights 24/7 on it.

Could this be an easier way to obtain rotifers than the usual culturing method? Thoughts and inputs most welcome

Yes most all pods love to eat algae.
