red bubble

so guys i've just noticed one red bubble......looks like regular bubble algae but red....have you guys seen this before?

yup, low light lovers, my skimmer was next to the fuge light and it was red, very red lol

yes red is just as bad and will take over if not checked just like the green.

so it is a low light lover? it's in my DT and might be in my fuge...not sure bout it in there though i do have that one in the DT
 
Yep, I have had some red bubble algae in my tanks before. Same as the green. Be very careful when removing so you don't rupture the bubbles or you will have them everywhere.

thanks nano but thats not my red buble algae lol mines just plain looking red lol though im guessing emeralds would like it just the same lol

best to just syphon it out... some even add a small piece of pvc on the end of the hose, cut at a 45 degree angle so you can pick on it, I syphoned out the few bubbles I had & it went away, same principle are the green bubble algae.
