I wouldn't worry about it Pancho. I think this sort of thing is pretty normal.
I know but it does bugs my head, why? the corals have never been better with the NO3 and PO4 finally in the place I wanted them. I shall see how the colony behaves and if needed I will frag it this Saturday.

Long day, cleaning, washing and little fragging. I installed the COR20 and is doing a great job, more flow zero noise, easy set up with the Apex.

I decided not to frag the hammer, it seems all the other heads are healthy and I saw several new heads coming, it should be fine. I couldn’t find the melanarus and the banded goby, they should be MIA. Killed some aip and remove maybe 40 asterina starfish and about 20 bristleworms who were below both GSP. [emoji2961]

Now the tough one, I dropped the DOS unit [emoji3061] it seems to be fine but I got to open it and re-align the plastic cover with the lateral ports. It was me so no one to blame. [emoji19]
I am done for the day so I will wait after Xmas to install it.

Corals are healthy but the montis have this creepy way to grow over other corals so I fragged some and took a big decision: the GSP is going in the rocks, I hope the GSP contains the montis and nevertheless I have little space available so I won’t mind if the GSP spreads.I just want to stop the crazy
montis. [emoji3517]

A beautiful tank, congratulations on your success!

I just installed a COR20 on my new tank and it is dead silent. Seems like a great pump on first impression.

Hello @acroalan, yes the COR20 is nice, silent and great power. I am really happy with mine too.

Thank for stopping by !

The DOS units are quiet noisy Pancho, so I would plan to put it somewhere were it won’t bother you or at least keep this in mind when your setting it up.

It has like a ‘whining’ sound’. I use it for water changes so it’s on for a while periodically, and I can hear the slight whine from my fish room (aka shed) outside. In my case I program the water changes when I’m not normally around because of this.

I'm considering these new COR pumps, how do you like the power supply on the 20? I heard it can be pulled out easily? Reviews look great on them and i like being ale to shut the skimmer down via the apex if the pump reads whacky

Thank you Shaun, I will set their timing to avoid been at home when they execute the dosing.

Hello @PSU4ME, honestly I am very happy with the COR20, powerful and dead silent, the set up in my RSM S-500 was super easy (I kept the original hose). Of course I just installed few days ago but I am very satisfied with it.

And thank you for stopping by!

Today I installed the DOS after getting help to open it and re-align it internally (all my tools are in the US. Luckily nothing got damage and the unit calibrated and it is working like a charm.
I will be monitoring the kH and Ca in the coming days to ensure everything is ok and that I am dosing the correct quantities.

To be honest, I noticed aiptasia and bristle worms like never before in my tank. I hope the banded shrimp and the yellow wrasse will help with the worms. I hate bristle worms, I don’t care if they are good CUC. For the aip the Aiptasia-X is helping but from experience I know is not a definitive solution and here is where the second part of the recovery starts....

I ordered from the LFS a CBB, blue tang, purple tang, yellow tang, magnificent fox face and a new melanarus. ;Woot

I hope the CCB will be the solution against aip and the melanarus will provide the additional teeth against the worms.
