One Freakin Huge Clam

I traveled out to a LFS in the near Burbs to pick up some dry goods.
They had this clam that had to be at least a foot and a half long.
It was just freakin huge!!!!

The fox face was a camera hog!

A very nice looking Tridacna Gigas, they get up to 3' plus in the wild. I think the largest one in captivity is at the Waikiki Aquarium and is arround 32" if I am not mistaken.

ive been meaning to go there but my lfs is the best. best prices..best fish...best acros and corals and he doesnt rip you off horribly like everyone does.. check him out and mention steve. Matt at ShoTank in Mundelein. You will be happy. o and hes got a 1000+ gal display which is ridiculous. must see PM me for details

what kind of lighting do you huge clam owners have?

Clams need very high lighting, either MH or T5's with individual reflectors.

I have 2x 175w MH and 2x 36" T5"s on my 75g clam tank.

im pretty sure it swallowed the protein skimmer as well...gigas are my fav clam
