We all have and from time to time still fight algae.
Light and phosphate are main contributors.

Light must be in the correct intensity, length of photoperiod, and colour.
Older T5's and MH shift spectrum as they age. LED's due to there lifespan as not as prone. The intensity must be enough for the inhabitant type, but not overdone. Start low, and crank a bit each month if possible until corals look full, then back, off 5%. Photoperiod is fine in the 8-9 hour range, make sure no outside sunlight hits the tank.

Reduce phosphate, target .02.-.07, rinse friozen before feeding, watch for foods high in phosphate (cheap flake is example) keep hand out as much as possible and always rinse hands and dry throughly before putting them in.

If you have high phosphate, say around .2, then use an LAntium cloride product like agent green to reduce, your skimmer can pull it out.

After, use a GFO like Roawphos, to mop the rest down to target.

Weekly water changes of 15% with saltwater made with zero TDS RODI water.

Maybe some of this can help, welcome to Reef Sanctuary
