Morning all so taken the plunge and brought a new Red Sea reefer 425xl tank comes with sump fitted with filter socks so far brought bubbles Magnus 5 curve skimmer , TMZ reef pump 4000dc got new lights led can’t recall name wasn’t over expensive but corals and fish doing great since I got it (felling hanging and right size for this tank ) was debating if it’s worth swapping the filter socks for a roller filter and the sump has a built in refugium so debating on putting some of the sand and crushing up some of my live rock to put in there or what else to fill with? Als tank I have is 250 lt was thinking of transferring water from that to new tank and then filling with new water so in effect 50% water change existing tank been running 2.5 years would this work any other ideas or advise would be greatly revived tia
