Thanks so much for your interest. The reason the release of these fixtures was pushed back is because we had a significantly increased demand for our other products in November and December. We have actually been running at capacity for the past couple months, and have not had any time to finalize these fixtures yet. I do not have an ETA unfortunately, and there is nothing more frustrating for me than to turn customers away. We are all exhausted over here from working ourselves so much lately.

We are better aquarists that we are businessmen, which makes for some amazing products, at the lowest possible prices, but a challenge to deal in the immense volume of orders and requests. We are working on increasing our output capacity by bringing in new equipment, it is just a matter of time until we get new employees trained up.

Thanks so much to all of you, and we hope to release the Reefer series of fixtures very soon.

    Quick update.

We had several other projects take precedence of this so it had to be tabled for the moment. We are working on a new wireless controller that we are going to integrate into all of our LED systems as well as standalone (think Bluefish but half the cost).

We don't have an ETA at this time unfortunately, a bit frustrating for me, as I'm sure you as well.

    Here's the link!

I thought it would be a good idea to outline some differences between Steves LEDs and other chinese manfacturers (Black box, AI Prime, Hydra, etc).

    • Steves LEDs uses linear strips for even distribution of light. No LED grouping means no hot-spots. Put any species of coral anywhere in the aquarium.
    • Steves LEDs uses passive cooling = no fan = 100% silent!
    • Steves LEDs are built entirely in Louisiana, USA using the highest quality American and Eurpoean components - no "Made in China" components. All components are rated at a minimum of 50,000 hours or about 15-20 years of operation.
    • Steves LEDs uses the highest quality German Lumileds Luxeon LEDs. All others use Chinese Crees and other generic LEDs that will burn out after a few years.
    • Steve's LEDs are the only systems that were specifically engineered to eliminate nuisance algae growth, reduce water temperatures, be the brightest on the market, and last the longest.
    • Steves LEDs has controller options for every budget (dimmer knob, wired, wireless, etc).
    • Steves LEDs can be suspended over any aquarium using our hanging kit. You can even use inexpensive shelving brackets and hang it from the wall behind the aquarium.
    • Steves LEDs systems are sold exclusively manufacturer-direct. They are expensive to build and inexpensive for you to purchase. All others are cheap to build, sold with huge markups through distributors and middlemen, and are expensive to buy.
    • Steves LEDs has the capacity to make fully custom fixtures, usually at little to no extra cost, usually within 1-3 days.
    • Steves LEDs has the ability to ship thousands of custom fixtures on short order, for large fish stores, public aquariums and other networks.
    • Steves LEDs are user servicable/repairable. You can replace a driver for only $6 in 60 seconds. Other companies charge about $50 for a driver replacement and you have the shipping expense of sending it in.
    • Most other companies charge a $100 'bench fee' plus labor as part of their 'warranty repair. Steves LEDs provides free diagnostics and discounted repair prices.
    • Steves LEDs has 1 day turnaround on repairs and upgrades sent in. Hydra takes 6-14 weeks!

I can go on and on, but you get the idea. There is nothing better on the market available at any price. If there was, we would find some way to improve our systems to be right back on top.
