I need some help/pointers/tips to catch a couple of clown gobies. Without taking the whole tank together. great little fish but for non-sps tanks. Thank you

 Say "how big is your tank?"
I'm thinking it will not be an easy catch.
A perfect reason an warning to others:
Do extensive research BEFORE you add a fish.
Hindsight is always 20/20.

Clown Gobies are (strangely enough!) rated "reef safe" or reef compatible....that is until You read "unless your have an SPS dominate tank with Acropora or similar corals" OUCH!!

Maybe someone will come along with a good way of catching them out....
Just don't envy you at this point tho. How bad is the damage?

I agree with the home made bottle trap. When I had to catch my orange spotted goby I tried a couple of traps. What ended working for me was my home made bottle trap. I used a poland spring water bottle because the fish was small and I felt the 2L bottle would be too big. With my bottle trap in hand and lots of patience ( I mean lots!) I put some food in the trap and waited over a week before the little guy was trapped. Good luck!
