I forgot to mention, the Zetlight UFO fan was rubbing on the housing which I believe ended up causing it to slow and lose the ability to cool the fixture. It no longer runs for more than half hour with out heating up and shutting down due to thermal protection.

Back to the trusted Kessil A350.

I ended up moving this tank down to the LFS I work at, Elite Reef in Denver, Colorado.

A couple of things bleaches out after the move but seem to be recovering well. If you're in the area, stop by and check it out at our brand new shop!

You have some lovely chalices. Have you attempted to frag any of them. One of mine attached to the main rock structure is growing a little too large for my liking. And I'm beginning to think of ways to frag it, but don't want to damage it by scraping it off the main rock. Any advice?

I was thinking of maybe applying what I did to encrusting monties, in that I would add a shell or little piece of rock next to the coral and allow the coral to grow over it. Then I could take the shell/rock away and have some of the coral on it and thus essentially made a little encrusted frag. I'm thinking this would work with the chalice as well as long as there is at least one eye polyp on the frag, that this should work. What are your thoughts on this?

That sounds like it should work fairly well. I used to propogate all of the corals in this tank, so they're all still on disc's which sit on the rock. This makes it easy to this day to remove nearly any of them in one piece if I ever want to, but they're definitely a hard coral to frag off the rock once attached. If you can find any areas where the chalice is lifting away from the rock as it grows you can usually cut these parts off relatively easily. Just be sure to keep all the inner skeleton aligned as it was in the colony when gluing them onto new areas or plugs.
