Max S 650 - where to put a heater (inline?) and UV sterilizer...?

Hmmm, my system doesn't use any inline heaters but I would recommend putting it down in the sump region on the return line. Almost all of your water changes should occur in the sump area and this will allow some initial heating of the new water prior to going in the display tank.

Hey Joey, thanks!

It looks like by the tanks size (175 total gallons) I would have to use 2 inline heaters...

And then the UV sterilizer...

Any ideas as where to put them all?

I take it you use regular heaters and set them in the left side sump area?

Any idea of the flow rate? I am trying to figure out what UV sterilizer to get and then go by flow rates/gallon size, etc.

Thanks!

I don't use a UV so I am of little help there.

For heaters, I use two regular ones (in case one fails I have another in there). I place them on the right side of the sump instead of the left. They sit under the return shelf (where I keep my carbon and purigen) because the heaters work best with a lot of flow around them and there is plenty going to the return pump.
