Seems to be a highly desired fish but not one for beginner aquarist or tanks that are less than a year old.
They are difficult to keep from all I've read.
I want want also, but until my tank gets past the 1 year mark & I feel confident that I can raise pods in my refugium, there's NO WAY I'm going to purchase one.
How old is your tank & what else do you have in it?

I agree with everything above, unless you are getting one of the ORA mandarins that eating pellets and frozen food.

Best advice I can give is read up on them and make sure your tank is capable of sustaining a population of pods sufficient to keep it healthy. Otherwise they're best left at the LFS. I'd say 50+ gallon tank with a refugium unless you plan to go the expensive route and buy live food every week.
