Just bought a Red Sea Max 130D, and have a skimmer issue

I have had it for only a few days and all look generally good, except the skimmer. No matter what I do, I cannot get it the bubbles to rise into the chamber....or even close to it. Any thoughts for as to why? it gurgles when I ope the air tube, but still to no avail.

If it’s a brand new tank with clean water, it’s possible your water just isn’t dirty enough to produce skimmate.

on the skimmer... once you get some bio-load, the key gate height & water level - both high... you have to play with it some & top off daily for optimal performance or get an ATO
