Hello all. New to salt water aquariums and could use a hand please. Purchased a JBJ 24 gal aquarium & ready to slowly add fish.
Looking at a couple clowns to start. Wondering how many I can stock total? What species? Looking for color also?

Start a new tank thread & share your tank with us so we can follow along - we love pics :)

Lots and lots of great choices in fish, clowns are some of my favorites - you will want only two clowns

I'd say two clowns would put your system at the max. I don't recommend going beyond that.

By the time you take a 24 gal tank, and add live rock and a sand bed the volume of water in the tank is below 20 gal. In a SW system you want about 1 inch of fish per 5 gal of water. You also need some room for growth. So, two fish that are each 2 inches long put you at the max stocking limit for fish.
