Is my starfish dead?

I got a starfish out of sea yesterday with my friend and put it in a 1 liter bottle with some sea water I got from there. I'm keeping it for a day without knowing anything and it seems dead It's tentacles don't move, it doesn't move, it doesn't respond, I didn't change the water because I was away today and sea is far. Is it dead? What can I doo (

most starfish don't make it unfortunately, even in the best of mature saltwater tanks... best left in the sea. Do you have a saltwater tank to put him in with lots of food? Any pics? Know what kind of starfish he is?

take him out and if he is dead he won't move... and if he smells really bad... you will know if he dead...
