When we remove 50% of water and replace, your nitrates should drop right away, in theory by half, so a 50ppm should be much lower after the change.

Do 2 50% changes, 1 each day and measure, if they don’t drop you might have a bad test kit. Confirm by secondary test if no change.

You can do as many water changes as you want, just keep in mind to match salinity and temp

LFS water is usually not very good.

I always must recommend your own RODI system as you may be adding nitrate via LFS water plus other stuff, who knows.

Cyano comes from high nitrates and silicates, both may be in your source.

As you know, water is the critical element, you must know what’s in it (and what’s not)
