Photos would help better ID what it is. Could be some sort of fungus or bacterial mats, chrysophytes, or sponge.

I wouldn't use seachem prime to reduce your ammonia it will alter your test readings. You may see a higher level of ammonia due to the introduction of the new rocks, there may be something dead on/in the rocks causing it. Water changes should help bring the value down.

How old is the tank?

Make a couple more post... (you need 5) then if you can add a pic, it would help.

My 1st thoughts... are the LR in a new tank are just going through a normal cycle of life...

adding new rock... with livestock, could have start a mini-cycle for sure... and using the Prime, will mask, your test

Fresh carbon & water changes... are something to consider

I would add a 100 ml bag of Purigen and do a 25% wc, if it were my tank

See what others think...

Welcome to Reef Sanctuary. As suggested frequent water changes are the way to deal with ammonia. The solution to pollution is dilution.
