Getting Rid of Montipora

so, I've got a Montipora I never really liked. One of the few mistakes I'm dealing with from when I let my LFS talk me into things. Unfortunately, it's doing really well and looks like it's going to outcompete the neighboring corals I do like.

I just tried to kind of pry/scrape it off. I didn't expect that to work, but it went even less well than I thought. I nearly toppled my whole aquasquape instead. It's on there pretty good.

My LFS suggested (jokingly) I get a nudibranch. Then more seriously suggested taking the live rock out, scraping off what I could, then epoxy over it. I don't really want to do that. It's a ton of work and with the way my scape is it might invite a whole rescape.

It's not too bad size right now, but in 6 months or a year it will be a real problem. If there was a way to contain it, I may not feel the need to get rid of it.

Eventually, I think I'm headed for a rescape, but I'm really not anxious to do that.

Any other thoughts?
