fish quarantine question

Do I need a powerhead in a hospital tank about to be treated with cupramine?? I bought a used tank and I'm pretty sure it came with some very unwanted parasites. I'm using a 29 gallon tank with about 20 gallons of water in it, sponge filter and a hob filter with carbon removed. Thanks for any input

I think the PH is used for flow so yu can use that or the HOB if you want.

I don't think it is crucial but I would add it for some circulation for the little guy as long as the flow isn't super high and blowing him into the glass. I would point it toward the surface so you have better gas exchange for him.

Do not use a power head inside the tank. You don't want powerful circulation in the QT. Have you read through this post?

Any hospital or quarantine tank is prone to eventually have a sick fish in it. Sick fish should not have to spend energy keeping up with a current. Also, a sick fish should not be subject to any intake pipes, etc.

A simple corner sponge filter is what you want to use.
