Even More Dive Videos

The title says it all. Different trip, but same island-Bimini. Great videos of all our favorite reef fish. On a side note, I did some spearfishing as well. I speared a volitans lionfish (sorry for all the lion lovers, but they're invasive.) Long story short, I lifted the spear out of the water, and the thing came sliding down the spear's shaft faster than I could react. Needless to say, he jabbed me in 6 different spots with his spines. Most painful thing I've experienced in a while. Vids to come.

First off: Stingrays. Believe it or not, these guys are actually pretty harmless. Unless you step on them. Then they're dangerous. But we hand-fed these guys squid.

this is awesome man! Ive only been to Hawaii for snorkeling and it was something I wont forget.

I would love to be able to snorkel the Pacific. If you look closely, you can see a black finned trigger diving into some fire coral. I think they're Hawaiian but made their way to the Caribbean.

Sorry to hear of the lionfish stings. I've also experience one. I was able to soak my hand in hot water which helped to denature the proteins in the venom, which did help, but for the rest of the day my hand and arm had a very uncomfortable dull ache that no amount of pain reliever was able to take care of.

Thanks for spearing the lionfish, yes they are very invasive and causing lots of issues with devouring native fish populations.

thanks. Yes once we got back home (we were at an uninhabited island) I put my hand in running hot water and BOY did it feel good. Massive swelling in my hand.
