Hi buddies need, once again your help. Who can clearly identify this grouper? I think of a Plectropomus species, but I'm not sure at all .

LoL ... After all, was a nice and sympathetic attempt. By the way ... the fish was identified by a member of IFM-GEOMAR, could hardly be more competent. ;)

Noop .... just because of the appearance of head, body and fins was clearly apparent, it is a largemouth, but which one. Well, the question has been answered, a semi-adult Plectropomus laevis. He is still not fully adult and that was the mind-challenging when trying to identify it.

The grouper on your picture is clearly a Epinephelus. Without having looked up in the ID book, it could be a E. caeruleopunctatus.
