Dive Videos!

Well guys, here are some videos of my latest exploits in Bimini. These videos were taken just off the coast of North Bimini, in about 20-25 feet of water. Got some vids and pics of some of our favorite reef critters down there. Enjoy!

Here's a French Angelfish showing off for the camera. Sorry I didn't get closer, I didn't want to scare him off. These guys were coming by in schools of 3 or 4, but this is the only video I got of them.

More Videos to come, I'm just uploading them as I go, it'll take too long to upload them all at once, Photobucket already froze on me trying to upload two.

Two butterfly fish: If you look closely, they're actually getting themselves cleaned off by juvenile wrasses. Found that pretty neat.

One of the barracudas I saw, probably four and a half feet long, stopped by a big rock and just hovered there. He puffed up his gills and opened his mouth and, sure enough, tons of little fish came off the rock to clean him. Among the mix I saw a damsel- I never knew they cleaned fish, does anyone here know about this? Even more amusingly, I think the damsel really nipped him hard near the fins and the cuda took off with the damsel chasing him down. Apparently, size doesn't matter for damsels :)

Sweet! What did you shoot the video with?

This is shot with a GoPro Hero 3 White Edition. Turns out the head mount is absolutely no good for diving, so this is a custom-made mount that looks kinda like a U (think putting your hands together, thumbs outstretched touching each other). The camera sits in the middle of the two poles of the U.

This is a picture of me with a spiny lobster tucked away in a cave. Luckily for him, it's not lobster season yet, or else he would have been a very tasty meal. If you're wondering what we speared, I only got lionfish, which, as you probably know, is a good thing. The rest were legal sized snappers and grunts. Here's another video. If you're wondering what that scream-like sound underwater is, it's just me equalizing (pinching my nose and blowing air.) Haha go grab a mask man! I'll keep uploading them soon. The diving is phenomenal, and while the color may seem off, that's just the red color spectrum getting absorbed.

This is a video of the waters near South Bimini- more specifically, Bimini Sands. Beautiful color change of the water, it's ridiculously clear. Lots of jawfish in the area.
