Cycling new tank

Hi. I have a healthy and established 120 litre reef tank and have just started cycling my new 300 litre. Could I use the water I take out of my 120 during my weekly water changes and put into the 300 litre to help speed up the process? Any advice gratefully appreciated!

You can use the water, but that contains very little bacteria. Your much better off using a few pieces of live rock or handfuls of gravel to help start the cycle.

Even though you added the bacteria, you still need to give it something to feed on, so add the usual raw supermarket shrimp.
