Common names: pineapple coral

Difficulty Level: Blastomussa falls under the average LPS care level with stable alkalinity and calcium levels being their primary need. Most simple systems with consistent water changes are adequate.

Feeding: Blastos are extremely aggressive eaters with very capable tentacles. They will easily catch and consume most food types including frozen, liquid and even pellets. Take care as their feeding aggression can sometimes be taken out on neighboring corals.

Lighting (Level 3 to 6): Blastos may adapt to many lighting conditions, but should be acclimated very slowly to higher lighting conditions.

Water flow: Moderate water flow.

Placement: Blastos are peaceful corals which may suffer from the stings of other LPS corals. Be careful to provide them plenty of space.

The blue and green contrasting pattern on these blastos really makes them pop. One of the nicest specimens I've seen so far!
