C-130 skimmer acting strange after WC

After months of tinkering with my skimmer, I've finally got it working great. But now, there's another strange happening. The last two times I've done a water change, the skimmer has gone nuts. I have to wait at least an hour before putting the collection cup back on or else it will fill up in 30 seconds or so. I'm using coral pro salt. Doing about a 20% WC. I've been using coral pro for about 2 months and never had this happen before...After the skimmer calms down. it's back to working as usual. Any ideas???

Many salts add things like an anti caking compound to prevent the salt from clumping. This may be what your seeing. Once you know that's going to occur, you can dial back the skimmer for a day when you make a water change.

Another possible thing is if the water is not perfectly matched. You could be causing your corals to throw off a lot of slime which the skimmer will capture. Again, dialing it back for a day can solve the problem.
