Blue moonlight Upgrade in C-130

Hello again.
Are any other C-130 owners able to recommend suitable blue moonlight lights that will fit inside the hood? The built-in ones aren’t really bringing out the potential colours in the tank at night.

Hi MaxC130.
With respect, the moonlight provided in the Max series aquariums is not intended for viewing animals, it is there to simply provide a dim light source to prevent stress in fish kept within the aquarium when in darkness.

Thank you for that information, RedSeaKev, but do you know of any products that are available to attach to the hood to provide an additional light source?

Fitting additional moonlights into a Red Sea fixture can be a bit tricky. Since I don't have anything be Red Sea, I've not tried it, but you might be able to retrofit one of these examples shown on this web page (offsite) - https://www.marinedepot.com/LED_Moonlights-FILTFIML-ct.html It is a USA site, so you'll need to check for availability where you are.

I would also add these two thoughts. You really don't need moonlights and adding anything is more a "feel good" kind of thing. They are not going to do much for the tank either way. If money is no object, your best approach would be to upgrade the fixture with a Steve's LEDs retrofit. See them here (offsite) - https://www.stevesleds.com/Red-Sea-Max-130-130D-C130-LED-Upgrade--Plug-and-Play_p_304.html
This will give you good led lighting and since they are programmable you can set the night time lighting to whatever you want.
