Anemone eating clownfish

Will a condylactis anemone because I couldnt find my clownfish in my tank anywhere and then this morning, I seen him all balled up and shriveled up with gooey stuff on him. Why would he eat him because that is what they live in the wild.

Codylactis anemones are from the Atlantic ocean and clownfish are from the Pacific ocean. The only time they come together are when we put them together in little glass boxes. It is entirely possible and likely that the anemone did not recognize the clownfish and ate it!

The condy is not a natural clownfish anemone. It's rare (but not unheard of) for a condy to host a clownfish. I'd have to guess that the anemone got your clown. Must have been a big surprise for the clownfish...
