Anemone dying?

Hi all, quite new to keeping reefs have a 6 month old 400 litre tank with 3 damsels 1 key hole dwarf and a wrasse. I also have a pair of black and white clowns that I'm keeping for a week in a quarantine tank I have set up before adding to
The main tank. On Saturday I got an Anemone. I rushed in to this a bit as I just loved how it looked and wanted my new clowns to host in it. My parameters are good I do however have about 10ppm nitrate at the moment and can never seem to get that down despite doing 25 litre weekly water changes and reducing feeding. The Anemone has shrunk a lot since I've bought it and seems to have gone very flat. I really don't know what to do. Is this normal for it just as it try's to settle in? It moved about 4 inches away from where I put it originally.

What species of anemone did you get?
What are your exact water parameters for everything you tested? "My parameters are good..." doesn't tell us anything.
What kind and how much lighting are you using?
What are you using for filtration and/or skimming?

A photo of the anemone would help a lot also.

A few general points -
Anemones are very sensitive to changes in the water they are kept in. Even a small cnage can cause them to close up for days.
Clowns often bother anemones causing the anemone to close up.
Moving an anemone to a tank with a difference in light can cause it to close up for days also.
Anemones require excellent water quality and lighting.

For now, if it's just small looking and/or closed up, I'd just leave it alone. If it looks like it's turned inside out, it's usually in serious trouble. Also look for damage to the anemone. This can occur if they are not carefully handled during shipping. If the anemone seem to be expelling "white smoke" it's usually dead or close to it. In that case remove it right away.
