Algae on rear tank wall

Hi guys

Forgive me if this is a bit of a basic question but I try and keep the glass crystal clear on the front and sides of the tank but what about the back wall?

Should I clean this clear as I have read that it's maybe best to allow some algae to grow somewhere as it uses nutrients and reduces the overall problem?

I have left it now for a few weeks and notice some of the fish are eating at it so i am thinking I should leave it to 'develop' so to speak

Unless that's a viewing side, for example if the tank is a room divider, I'd just let it grow. Yes, many fish and other livestock love to eat algae from there.

If it does get way overgrown, you could scrape it down over a period of time.

I agree with Dave. I'd leave it alone if its not amazingly unsightly or overgrown.
