When you say "tubes" are you referring to the fluorescent bulbs or the plastic plumbing tubes?

When I used T5, every year.
As they age, colour can shift towards the red spectrum in addition to lower intensity.

I changed to CBB, LED to cut costs.

You can get about 18 months out of T5 or PC bulbs, but you do have a couple of things going on. They change spectrum and loose intensity over time.

However, long term, you might be better off upgrading the lighting to LEDs. They don't need to be changed and your use less electricity to power them, and get better light. LEDs do have a higher initial cost though, so it does take some time to recoup the investment.

I use the Visparspectra 165W, I paid $150 Canadian, Amazon delivered. Running now 27 months, can grow anything with them.
There's also a 300W version, about $225.
