Developing LED kits for RSM Tanks

I plan to migrate to LEDs in the coming months too. More PAR, less heat, less power consumption and long term savings are driving me.

Biopellets review - an upgrade everyone must make

I use pellets and GFO. I have always zero nitrates and some PO4 reading. Without nitrates the pellets wont be able to reduce phosphate.

custom tank or red sea max?

Hi, If before getting it you are already thinking about modding I suggest you design your own tank with the best available infrastructure. Don't pay twice. There is nothing like designing our own tanks if you manage to find a decent professional to materialize it. It will cost more but it...

deep sea divers RSM 250 thread

Consider feeding your CUC because you added them too quickly, they have nothing to eat :-( Mitrax needs loads of algae. Take it easy, we know it is hard. Shrimp need a more stable tank otherwise they molt like crazy and you need to feed them too. Feeding now will delay your cycle completion.

    Particles in water

It tends to improve with time. Changing anything during the nitrogen cycle will make it more painful. Enjoy the tank.

Deltec mc500 and Red Sea 250... here we go!

Hi, Mine would overflow too if not automatically emptied every day. I'm still tuning it but I currently have the back chamber level at the 5th notch from the top. The skimmer weir is just around 3mm up. The lower water on the back increase the fan's performance, my chiller is working less...

Deltec mc500 and Red Sea 250... here we go!

Hello, 1 week after the Deltec installation I can share few things I learned about the Deltec MC500: Installation is a piece of cake :bday1: I used a dremel to cut that small piece of plastic just like the others did; It's really quiet once you adjust the cup; Performance is excellent...

Profilux 3ex help with dimming stock t5 lights

Hi Dan, I rent the place, so no holes for full automation. In fact redirecting skimmer gunk to a bottle is helping me to tune the darkness/ density I want. When you set the electronic pumps you tell how you want them during storms, min/ max and night mode. Minimum is nice because you can...

Profilux 3ex help with dimming stock t5 lights

Hi Dan, The simul all-in-one flashes are ok if lights are at 0%... with lights at 5% for example your storm may pass unnoticed... maybe just clouds? Here I dimm to 0% and have 5 min storms randomly dispersed once a day. I find a bit annoying dark clouds passing too often but clouds are really...

Profilux 3ex help with dimming stock t5 lights

Hi, In my conf I did not need an expansion card so far... I have chosen the stick that does all in one which is strong enough to my RSM250: GHL-Profilux Dimmable LED - Full Weather Simulation Red - Blue - White - Flash - Stick The above stick uses 2 channels and yes its only 1. There is the...

Profilux 3ex help with dimming stock t5 lights

Hi Dan, In my configuration I dimm 2 reactors together and 1 separatelly. I use 2 interfaces PL0556 but you can buy one PL0056 and one PL0556. As each 10V interface has 2 channels L1-L2, L3-L4, L5-L6; these few interfaces are precious and I also wanted to control tunze electronic pumps and a...

Deltec mc500 and Red Sea 250... here we go!

Hello, My RSM250 skimmer pump impeller broke. I consulted RS which pointed me to a website in Germany asking 50€ for a new impeller :nekid: As I was unsure if the pump had also problems (119,90€ + shipping!!!) I decided to move to MC500 thanks to your success stories. I installed the beast...

    Scott's RSM130

Hi Scott, It looks like a sea hare but there are several nudibranches that look similar. I would not remove it as this animal could help you eating all algae. If really a sea hare it will die of starvation when it does not find enough algae. Happy reefing

Hydrogen Peroxide, the ultimate algae killer

Hi there, << I did water tests and I really could never figure out what was wrong >> I would test water again with other tests, test Top-Up water with a TDS meter. And keep testing more before any drastic move. If TDS, nitrates and phosphates 0 and you keep having algae see if tubes are...

3?! What a good surprise! It's nice to have more options.
