personally i don't see the big deal - other than the water level view the 130 vs the 130d - u can purchase everything and turn a 130 into a 130d. i pretty much did that and i bought my tank for 425$. If it was me - i'd buy the used imo.

the fans in the actual hood are on with the lights. it keep airflow in the hood for the lights. this does no "cool" the tank. the only fan that would do that is the fan located in the back of the hook. that is opt. and if u are running a chiller isnt really needed.

Im going through about 2 gallons a week give or take? i've got an open top though with MH and im running the aux fan for a slight breeze over the surface of the water. I am running an ato as well though
