Since every tank is different, with a different arrangement of rocks, coral and livestock, there is no "best way" for powerhead or other circulation pumps.
I'd start with one pump along each side directing their flow toward the middle, and then over time adjust them for what is best for your tank. You can even change the flow around from time to time, just so different areas of the tank get the full flow. Don't be afraid to add additional pumps as you need them.
